Lab 5 : Using Pen Tools

Pen tool is used to draw. from simple image to complex iamge, pen tool is the right tools.
this is how pen tool look like

 

1. Start the Photoshop

2. copy image of the baby above 
3. Go back to photoshop and create a new document (Command N)
4. Command+V to paste the copied baby image
5. now , create a new layer above the baby layer (Shift+Command+N) . this layer will be the layer where the points is drawn. name this layer 'Face'
6. select the pen tool from the toolbar (shortcut : P)

7. now start at some point and place a point at the baby face until all face part are chosen. you can fillcolor to the face. choose the appropriate color. after that,  lock the 'face' layer and hide it.

8.create a new layer on top of face layer. name this layer 'eye' and start drawing the eye.
tips for drawing the eye :
i) draw the white part first
ii)then draw the big ball part (iris)
iii)lastly, draw the small iris

 

9. Do the same for mouth , hat.

10. see how to manage the layer as in picture above. this image is 50% done. continue until it can became almost like this :

First, we are going to begin with the shooting stars artwork. or create any artwork u like

As you have seen us do before, we need to group the artwork so we can make everything easier to move and manipulate.

One of the most important parts of making this t-shirt design effect really pop and happen, is to choose the right colors. Now the colors don’t have to be that particular, they just need to be bright and with a lot of contrast.

Next we are going to make a copy of the artwork, move it a little bit down and to the left, and then color it a bright pink.

We’re going to repeat this step, one more time by copying the artwork, moving it up and to the right, and coloring it bright yellow.

We always suggest you play with the artwork a little bit and change the depth until you get it right where you want it. It shouldn’t take a lot for you to be able to get this technique and make it better than we can.
